We Build the Technology Behind News Media and Marketplaces
Schibsted & Vend Polska is a joint venture between Schibsted and Vend, created as a result of the corporate split within the Schibsted group. Our story began in 2012, when we launched operations in Kraków as Schibsted’s technology hub — then known as Schibsted Tech Polska. Over time, we evolved into a shared tech center supporting both Schibsted Media and Schibsted Marketplaces, and later transitioned into an independent joint venture after the companies officially separated.
Schibsted is a leading media group in Norway and Sweden, known for well-known news brands such as VG, Aftenposten, Aftonbladet, and Svenska Dagbladet.
Following the separation of its media and marketplace operations in 2024, Schibsted now operates as an independent company focused on high-quality journalism, digital innovation, and strengthening democracy through a free and independent press.
Vend is a group of modern platforms operating in Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark. It runs well-known services such as FINN, Blocket, Tori, Oikotie, DBA, and Bilbasen, connecting millions of users in the areas of real estate, jobs, automotive, and e-commerce.
Vend was established as an independent, publicly listed company following its separation from Schibsted, with a strong focus on building smart, simple, and locally relevant marketplaces.
Today, we are a technology hub with over 12 years of experience. From our offices in Kraków and Gdańsk, we build solutions that reach millions of users every day and help them better navigate the world of information, services, and classifieds.
We bring together software engineering, data science, and artificial intelligence to develop platforms that are intelligent, scalable, and truly useful. We co-create news websites, classifieds applications, recommendation engines, content personalization tools, and automated solutions for both advertisers and journalists. We work closely with teams in Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark — creating an environment where experimentation, continuous learning, and new ideas are not just welcome, but essential.

Our story
The story of Schibsted & Vend Polska is rooted in over a decade of growth, collaboration and transformation — and in nearly two centuries of publishing and innovation from our parent companies.
It all began in 2012, when Schibsted Tech Polska was founded in Kraków as a technology center supporting the Norwegian media group Schibsted. Two years later, we expanded to Gdańsk, strengthening our presence and growing a vibrant community of engineers, designers and product people.
In 2024, a major chapter unfolded: Schibsted formally split into two companies — a dedicated media group and an independent marketplace group, which rebranded as Vend. With that, Schibsted Tech Polska evolved into a joint venture, officially becoming Schibsted & Vend Polska — a shared technology and product hub for both organizations.
Today, with 300+ specialists across two cities and a culture built on trust, autonomy, and partnership, we co-create digital services used by millions of people in Norway and Sweden.
